We’ll get to Derek Carr and his contract extension with The Las Vegas Raiders in a bit. First, we need to talk about an interesting statement he made during an interview. Carr thinks he has what it takes to bring home the championship.
“The question of, ‘Can I win a playoff game?’ Yeah, that’s ridiculous,” Carr said Wednesday. “Just because we haven’t, just because we had one chance and we lost in the last series of a game to the AFC champions? Yeah, I think we can. It just shows you how close we were. But with that said, 55 percent of the teams that make the playoffs, the next year don’t. So the odds are against us.
#4 Las Vegas native Ryback claims his backstage fight with Brock Lesnar was fake

It s hard to know what s real and what s not in WWE, which is why Las Vegas native Ryback s latest comments are so hard to digest. The former Intercontinental champion claimed last week in an edition of Ryback TV that his backstage altercation with Brock Lesnar was just something the company made up. He claims they did this to smear his name in the media and make it seem like he was hard to work with.
The story goes that in 2012, Ryback and Brock Lesnar got into a shoving match backstage before a live show. The altercation was supposedly so bad that Lesnar left the arena and couldn’t be reached by the company. As for Ryback, he was taken off of shows for the incident and received a lot of bad press.
It was done to try to hurt my credibility with the fans that, Big bad Ryback isn t so big, bad and tough. That altercation never even happened. I and Brock get along great, clarified Ryback.
#3 Kyle Busch makes a polarizing statement about dirt track racing

Like it or not, Kyle Busch is one of the most brutally honest figures in NASCAR history, and that is what endears him to his audience. This is also what enrages his detractors and fuels their nonstop commenting on the Las Vegas native’s career. Kyle Busch has seemingly struck a chord once again after making remarks about dirt track racing.
Cut the cord. As Richard Petty said, dirt takes our sport backward, Kyle Busch said when talking about the Easter Sunday dirt race at Bristol Motor Speedway. The race was introduced in 2021 and is another example of NASCAR creating gimmicks to bring in news audiences. While Busch is probably right that the move brings the sport back a step, that is what has made it so interesting for fans to watch.
#2 The Las Vegas Aces ring in a new era with prominent draft picks.

It s no secret that The Las Vegas Aces are bound for greatness and on the verge of winning the WNBA Championship, but they need a few more pieces in place to get there. Fortunately for Las Vegas, the WNBA draft took place last Monday, and the Aces used the opportunity to bring some big playmakers to the team. I
They started by drafting Myla Hollingshed 8th overall and was followed up by Kierstan Bell as the 11th overall pick and Kayla Pointer in 13th. They later drafted Aisha Sheppard and Faustine Aifuwa. This gives the team an interesting mix of offensive and defensive power, which could be the added depth the bench needs to go far this season. Who knows if they can replace Liz Cambage, though?
#1 Derek Carr signs extension with Las Vegas worth 121.5 million

Derek Carr signed a three-year, $121.5 million contract extension with The Las Vegas Raiders last Wednesday, making him the seventh highest-paid Quarterback in The NFL. This news comes after weeks of speculation.
Carr has been the starting quarterback for the Raiders since being drafted to the team in 2014 and has a record of 57-70 during that time. Despite these startling numbers, Carr was a big part of Las Vegas s 10-7 record last season, also earning the distinction of having some of the best passing yard numbers in the league last year.
