The 2022 Billboard Music Awards
The Billboard Music Awards returned to Las Vegas this year. The award show was on Sunday, May 15 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Here s a quick recap of who attended, the outfits, the award winners, the performers, and what happened at the star-studded show.
The Red Carpet before the show was full of stars. From performers to audience members, some big names were in attendance.
Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott brought their daughter Stormi with them to the show. Model Cara Delevigne showed up with Megan Thee Stallion and was acting strange
Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly arrived in coordinating black outfits. DJ Khaled, French Montana, Ty Dolla $ign, Giveon, Michael Bubl , Pusha T, and Fat Joe were some more of the familiar faces on the carpet.
Sean Diddy Combs hosted and opened the show by performing with Jack Harlow, Bryson Tiller, and Teyana Taylor.
Other performers included Rauw Alejandro, Miranda Lambert & Elle King, Florence + The Machine, Latto, Becky G, Morgan Wallen, Machine Gun Kelly, Dan + Shay, Travis Scott, Megan Thee Stallion, Burna Boy, and Maxwell with a tribute to the 40th anniversary of Michael Jackson s Thriller album.
One of the big winners of the night was Doja Cat, presented with a total of four awards for Top R&B Artist, Top R&B Female Artist, Top R&B Album, and Top Viral Song.
Other awards presented on-air included: Megan Thee Stallion for Top Rap Female Artist, Morgan Wallen for Top Country Male Artist, and Dan + Shay for Top Country Duo/Group. Glass Animals took home two awards, one for Top Rock Artists and another, the Pepsi Mic Drop Moment, for their song Heat Wave.
Previous Icon Award winner Janet Jackson presented Mary J. Blige with this year s Icon Award. Both women were given standing ovations by the crowd.
As usual, the Billboard Music Awards were lively, full of live music and celebrities.
