Good, Bad, and Ugly from Las Vegas Raiders vs Kansas City Chiefs

The Las Vegas Raiders took on the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday and while it pretty much derailed their playoff hopes, there were a lot of takeaways from the matchup.

1. The Good: The Las Vegas Raiders know what they are doing isn t working

While there wasn t much to be happy about after the Kansas City Chiefs destroyed the Las Vegas Raiders 48-9, fans can at least take solace in the fact that change starts here. In fact, with the levels of incompetency shown by every single member of this organization, maybe the Raiders can finally admit their culture isn t working and they need to try something else. It might even be time to admit that Derek Carr is not the future of this franchise.

It also means that the defense will need to undergo drastic changes throughout the 2022 offseason. Remember, this is a defense that has given up 27.7 points a game and 360 points in total. Something needs to fundamentally change on that side of the ball.

2. The Bad: Derek Carr

It’s becoming increasingly obvious that Derek Carr isn’t working out. Not only is that evident by his 53-70 record, but also because he’s only made the playoffs once since joining the team. Fast Forward Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs, and you see a Quarterback who once again choked under pressure against top-tier opponents.

Carr went 33 of 45 for 263 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. The Raiders just signed Desean Jackson a few weeks ago, and while Darren Waller is still injured, Carr had Foster Moreau, Josh Jacobs, and Hunter Renfrow to fill that void. That he couldn’t work another touchdown out of that speaks to his inefficiency as a Quarterback

3. The Ugly: The infighting among Las Vegas Raiders fans about what s next

The ugly didn t occur on the field during the Las Vegas Raiders versus Kansas City Chiefs matchup Sunday evening. The ugly is what took place after the game and what continues to play out in sports chats all around the world. Raiders fans are already pounding around the water cooler after former head coach Jon Gruden promised a playoff run and will continue to after this loss.

The conversations among fans center around Derek Carr versus Marcus Mariota and who should be the first domino to fall on the defense. Everything is on the table at this point in the season.
