1. Titanic Thompson, golf ball bet
The task was to drive a golf ball across 500 yards, which even professional golf players have never achieved. There were several takers for the challenge, which he won by simply performing the task in winter and the ball bounced on ice over a frozen lake. Thompson always had a plan for his bets, and he won almost every time.
2. Amarillo Slim
He was known for risky bets, and he somehow always found a way to win. Amarillo Slim dominated the poker game for a while and never fell short of ideas. He is widely known for when he tasked a professional tennis guru to a match with terms that he brings the paddles for the day. On the day of the challenge, his ‘ paddles” of choice were two frying pans, and as he had silently been practising for a while using the same, he won. As if this wasn’t a lesson to potential opponents, he won once more with the same trick, playing against a player from Taiwan but using Coca-cola bottles instead.
3. Brian Zembic, breast implant Bet
He is a household name known for having fulfilled one of the most surprising challenges of all time. In 1996, Brain agreed to get breast implants for $100,000 to last a year. Not only did he follow through with the plan of getting 38C implants, but he also lasted longer than two decades with them and only removed them recently. He has taken part in several other notable prop bets over the years.
4. Antonio Esfandiari , Lunge bet
He is one player who does not always have luck on his side. This has, however, not stopped him from taking up challenges. He is known for the lunging challenge where the task’s instructions were not to walk on his feet for 48 hours but instead lunge forward. He lost after peeing in a water bottle as he could not bear the pain of making the lunges to the toilet.
5. Phil Ivey, 1 Million Vegetarian Bet
He is one to bet big and has taken up several complex challenges. One of the craziest props he took part in was a challenge to become vegetarian for one year. He did not hesitate to take up the challenge but later bought out of the bet.
