6 Things to Do at Valley of Fire State Park

Valley of Fire State Park is a hub of breathtaking attractions that any visitor coming to Vegas should check out. Even better, there are lots of cool activities you can engage in and have a good time. How about checking out the following spots for fun?

1. Visit Atlatl Rock

If you love history, Atlatl Rock should be your destination. The massive rock with a 250-foot metal staircase is not only a fantastic view but also preserves history. As you go up the staircase, there is a collection of petroglyphs over 4000 years old showing an atlatl. An atlatl is an ancient stick tool or dart thrower used to give spears and darks more throw force used by ancient tribes.

2. Visit the Elephant Rock

If you are looking for a mild hiking experience, possibly alongside your kids, the Elephant Rock is the perfect spot. The natural arch of sandstone resembles an elephant and provides a 0.3-mile hiking trail right from the parking lot to the top. It is a lovely spot if you want your family to catch a breath while toughening them up.

3. Go Hiking on the White Domes Trail

The White Domes Trail presents a 1.1 hiking trail that is quite manageable even if you are not so much of a hiker. Even better, you get to enjoy spectacular views of the multi-colored sandstone formations as your hike through the narrow canyon. The spot has been a shooting spot for some of the greatest movies, from Transformers, Casino, Generations, and Total Recall to Star Trek.

4. Visit the Pink Canyon

If you are looking for a peaceful and quiet experience, the less-crowded Pink Canyon is the ideal attraction. The sandy short, pastel pink canyon does not offer a long trail, but it provides just enough to give you time to reflect and unwind on your own or with several friends.

5. Check out the Fire Wave

The 1.5-mile trail with beautiful multi-colored sandstones at Fire Wave is another notable spot you should visit. It also presents a calm and quiet environment if you are looking to step away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

6. Go Hiking at the Rainbow Vista

How about a view of some spectacular landscapes at Rainbow Vista? This 1.1-mile hiking trail presents a beautiful maze of towers, ridges, valleys, and canyons you will enjoy exploring. If you are not up to engage your feet or have some young kids on board, most of the trail is accessible in a nice four-wheel drive.
