5 Vegas Restaurants That Opened in 2020

2020 rattled the Las Vegas culinary scene. Here are five new restaurants that opened during this wild year

1. The Legends Oyster Bar & Grill

It is a pity that Chef Jack Jarukasem’s the Legends Oyster Bar & Grill won’t receive the hype it deserves due to the current pandemic’s negative ripples. Jack has worked his way up to the top of the pile from his time at Caesars Entertainment and has opened this new incredible spot.  His original idea was to feature oysters, raw scallops, and chilled shellfish majorly, but he had to switch to the more-moving hot food. Highlights include a crab and lobster pan roast in a creamy tomato, deconstructed gumbo, and a Louisiana-themed seafood boil.

2. Bugsy & Meyer’s Steakhouse

Bugsy & Meyer’s Steakhouse at the Flamingo is another new top joint in town. Named after the mobsters who started the Flamingo, the restaurant is worth checking out. Their menu was crafted by Food Network competition winner Chef Lamar Moore. Some of their impressive dishes include the Mishima Ranch Wagyu Rib Cap, the Cadillac, and the prime beef tartare mixed with tart foie gras aioli. Steaks and entrees range between $34 – $140, while appetizers cost between $12 to $28.

3. Johnny C’s Diner

If you love some classic American diner options, Johnny C’s Diner is the new spot to hit. Chef Johnny Church presents a variety of typical classic American dishes. You get to gobble down some amazing Cuban sandwiches and taste some tasty Randall’s Biscuits. Appetizers, soups, and salads cost $4-14, while burgers and sandwiches are $10-14

4. Maui Exiles

If you are a fan of exotic Aloha State cuisine, Daniel Mellinger has it all at Maui Exiles. You can drool over spicy Hui Hui Chicken, tangy pork sliders, and even simple spam and eggs. For $4.95-15.95, you can have a heavy breakfast, while lunch and dinner cost $8.95-25.95.

5. Mountain West Eatery

Mountain West Eatery is a new player with tasty Chicago-style BBQ, Southern flavors, and family hospitality provisions. Rick Ruff opened the joint alongside his wife with his mother’s secret recipes in mind. Here you get to try grits, shrimps, a Ghost French Toast sandwich filled with fried fish, and traditional gumbo. Lunch and diner go for $9.99- $15.99 while appetizers range between $7.49 and $14.99.
