While her stats so far this season don’t exactly reflect it yet, Destiny Slocum has done a pretty good job in her first year with the Las Vegas Aces. In fact, between six assists and six rebounds in five games, she is definitely carrying her weight while the starters rest. Beyond that, there is so much room to grow for this woman, that she could end up being a starter in a few years. Of course, that might be a few years off, but there’s a lot of promise in this woman.
#4 Dearica Hamby

It’s no secret that Dearica Hamby really stepped up in the absence of Liz Cambage and Kelsey Plum last season, but it is her performance this year that is really starting to turn heads. Believe it or not, Hamby is pulling 11 points per game, 6.8 rebounds per game, and five steals as well. Then again, she hasn’t really been pulling her weight when it comes to assists, which is something she will probably need to work on, but is 11-15 at the free-throw line, making her a very reliable player at times when it is needed.
#3 Riquna Williams

It’s been said a million times that depth is the name of the game in most sports, and that is exactly what Riquna Williams has brought to the Las Vegas Aces in 2021. Not only is that evident by her seven points per game off the bench for Vegas, but also by her four blocks and two steals in five games. If nothing else, she is a woman that can change the dynamic of the game every time she steps on the court, and it’s very likely she will improve on her aforementioned numbers as the season goes on. She has also been a decent sharpshooter so far this season, nailing six out of 17 shots so far.
#2 Liz Cambage

What a difference a year makes.
Seriously though, the Las Vegas Aces came into 2020 with little hope on their side after losing Liz Cambage and Kelsey Plum in the preseason and missed their star center all season long. Sure, the rest of the Aces squad stepped up in her absence and even made it to the WNBA finals, but they were swept by the Seattle Storm in what had to be one of the most embarrassing losses in the league’s history. Fast forward to 2021, though, and the Aces actually ended up winning a game against the Storm, after Cambage scored 18 points, eight rebounds, and one assist. She is just that indelible x-factor that can change the game, and she proved it that night against a team they will likely meet again in the playoffs.
#1 A’ja Wilson

Speaking of indelible x-factors that can change a game at a moment’s notice, let’s take a moment to talk about the one and only A’ja Wilson. This is the woman that helped lead the Aces to countless victories last season during their finals run and just seems to get better every single time she goes out there. Seriously though, she has 18.3 points per game, 7.8 rebounds per game, and a whopping eight blocks so far this season. Like Cambage, this is a woman who is dangerous in the post and can be a reliable scorer as well..
