5 Former Las Vegas Sports Stars and Where They Are Now

You won’t believe where these former Las Vegas sports stars are now

Rich Bisaccia former Las Vegas Raiders head coach

Rich Bisaccia was the heart and soul of the Las Vegas Raiders for a while. He started out as the assistant coach and moved into the primary position after Jon Gruden resigned. Bisaccia would then lead Las Vegas to an 8-5 record, even taking the team to the playoffs for the first time in years.

By the end of the season, he had the Raiders singing his praises. That s why so many were disappointed when he was passed over for the head coaching role.

Bisaccia is now a special teams coordinator for the Green Bay Packers

Marc-Andre Fleury former Las Vegas Golden Knights goaltender

It s hard to describe what Marc-Andre Fleury meant to Las Vegas. He was drafted to the team at the very beginning and helped them to the playoffs every year he took the ice. What really turned him into a legend though was his performance throughout the 2021 NHL Playoffs. Fleury had almost no help from an injured Robin Lehner, forcing him to start over ten games in a row. Las Vegas would go on to lose in the semi-finals that year, but Fleury ended up winning the Vezina trophy for his incredible performance.

The Golden Knights then made the mistake of trading him to the Chicago Blackhawks and deciding to go with Robin Lehner as their new starter. Fast-forward to the end of the 2021-2022 season and fans have already put out an online petition to try to get Fleury back. He is currently a member of The Minnesota Wild, but that doesn t mean he couldn t be persuaded to come back home to Las Vegas.

Brendan Gaughen frmer NASCAR Cup Series driver

Las Vegas native Brendan Gaughen was a NASCAR driver that competed in The Cup, Xfinity, and Camping World Truck Series. While never managed to win a Cup Series race, he sits with two Xfinity Series wins and eight Camping World Truck Series wins. Despite being in his 40 s, this man competed in NASCAR until 2020.

Gaughen now serves as Vice President of Beard Motorsports.

Liz Cambage former Las Vegas Aces center

As much as it hurt to hear that former Las Vegas Aces center Liz Cambage didn’t want to be here anymore, she still did a lot to endear herself to the fan base. Between averaging 18 points per game and helping the team make the playoffs for two seasons, she was a huge part of the team’s success between 2020-2022. Despite her dominance in Las Vegas, however, she signed a deal with the Los Angeles Sparks during the offseason.

Marcus Mariota former Las Vegas Raiders quarterback

While Marcus Mariota never got much playing time with the Las Vegas Raiders, he did have a few big moments.

For example, when Derek Carr was injured after a running play during a game against the Los Angelos Chargers, Marcus Mariota jumped into the game. This would be his only start with the team, but he made it count by racking up one rushing touchdown, one passing touchdown, and one of the greatest almost comebacks of all time.

Mariotais now a member of the Atlanta Falcons and has a great chance of starting next season for the first time in years.
