This may come as a surprise but Las Vegas is actually a great city for fishing. There are numerous lakes and ponds in and around the city which are suitable for fishing. No matter if you are serious about fishing or looking to spend a day in nature, here are some of the awesome locations to visit.

Floyd Lamb Park

The park is located in Tule Springs near Las Vegas. It has four ponds: the larger one (Tule Springs lake) and three smaller ones (Cottonwood lake, Desert willow lake, Mulberry lake).
The local government stocks fish every month in Tule Spring lake. At this location, you can catch catfish and the largemouth bass.

Sunset Park

Located close to the Las Vegas Strip, Sunset Park is a good option for a quick visit. It is stocked every week. You can catch carp, largemouth bass, and rainbow trout. There are a lot of tiny carp lurking around which can be frustrating for some, but it is a definite plus if you want to teach your kids to fish.

Lake Mead

Lake Mead spreads across 150k acres and is the biggest reservoir in the whole USA. If you go fishing here you can expect bluegill, rainbow trout, striped bass, and catfish.

Lake Sahara

Lake Sahara is a large, man-made freshwater paradise. The shore is heavily populated, but it remains very clean and nature-like. There are a lot of bass in this lake.

Colorado River Topock Gorge

Colorado River Topock Gorge is a natural masterpiece located in Havasu National Wildlife. It s a two-hour drive from Las Vegas but it’s worth it. Untouched nature offers a great place to rest and fish. There are numerous species of fish in this river, and it is common knowledge amongst local fishermen that there are a lot of really large fish to be caught.
