The Las Vegas Raiders might be in for a lot of growing pains with new head coach Josh McDaniels. Does he know how to make important decisions? Can he see a diamond in the rough and develop them as a player? These questions are critical. The answers will determine how long the Raiders keep McDaniels him.
2. Derek Carr chockes under pressure

It s no secret that Derek Carr is an amazing quarterback when the team is at 100%, but what about when they aren t? When the pressure is on and the Las Vegas Raiders need Carr to step up, he sometimes has trouble doing so. Remember when the team was riding a three-game winning streak in 2021, only to get absolutely destroyed by the Los Angeles Chargers?
3. The running game isn’t up to par

The Las Vegas Raiders had the 27th best-ranked rushing offense in the NFL last year, and a lot of that falls on the shoulders of Joshua Jacobs and Kenyan Drake. They were both put in their respective positions to ease the load on Derek Carr yet couldn t produce a positive yard at times. When all was said and done, The Raiders only accumulated 1617 yards in 18 games last year, putting them at an average of just 95 rush yards a game.
That stat definitely needs improvement in 2022, even if it means replacing Joshua Jacobs. It might sound a little mean, especially since he isn t the only rusher that has underperformed, but he certainly hasn t lived up to expectations.
4. There’s no depth at the wide receiver position

Besides Darren Waller, Hunter Renfrow, and maybe Foster Moreau, who do the Las Vegas Raiders have as a reliable wide receiver for Derek Carr? One of the main problems with the Raiders’ offense is that if Carr s preferred receivers are unavailable, he s forced to throw out of his comfort zone. Now, Josh Jacobs and Kenyan Drake would be prime for an opportunity like this from time to time, but it seems like there aren t a lot of other people to rely on. This is why The Raiders need to add to their wide receiver depth chart and give Carr a few more options to play with.
5. The defense needs work

Let s be honest here. A lot of what held the Las Vegas Raiders back in 2021 was their lackluster defense. Whether it was their inability to get the opposing team off the field, or just getting scored on in a matter of minutes, something has to change with this defense. Of course, that might mean getting rid of names that were brought in during the Jon Gruden era like Alex Leatherwood, Tre von Moehring, and Nate Hobbs.
