5 Biggest Villains in Las Vegas Sports

Are these the biggest bad guys in Las Vegas sports?

#4 Pete Deboer (Las Vegas Golden Knights Head Coach)

Despite Peter Deboer having a pretty good record throughout his tenure with the Las Vegas Golden Knights, he has still failed to get the organization back to the Stanley Cup Finals. He came close in 2021 when the team made it all the way to the Semi-Finals, but they were eventually eliminated in a competitive series against the Montreal Canadians.

Now the Knights are in a rut. In fact, between the team slowly losing their grip on the final playoff spot, and the laundry list of players still on the bench with injuries, it looks pretty grim. There are a lot of people calling for Deboer s job.

#3 Ryback (Las Vegas native and former WWE Superstar)

Ryback is a special kind of villain in the Las Vegas sports world. He’s one of those guys WWE gave up on almost immediately, and he did everything possible to embarrass himself on his way out. From reportedly telling Vince McMahon that he was the next John Cena to his discussions about how he should get paid the same amount of main eventers, he rubbed everyone the wrong way.

Fast forward to 2022, and the Las Vegas native has burned almost every bridge. He’s even been mocked during pro wrestling segments this year and spoke unkindly about Triple H’s retirement in March. It’s obvious that people don’t see him in a good light.

#2 Jon Gruden (former Las Vegas Raiders head coach)

Las Vegas sports fans hated Jon Gruden as the Raider’s head coach, but no one could have predicted what eventually took him down. It wasn’t his bad draft picks or questionable play-calling; instead, leaked emails proved that he was a homophobic, racist, misogynistic person who probably should have never been head coach in the first place.

Gruden’s self-implosion was a huge distraction for the team, which was already dealing with a lot of problems at the time, and really just brought down the entire organization’s image.

#1 Kyle Busch (Las Vegas native and NASCAR Cup Series champion)

There’s no better villain in Las Vegas sports than the Candyman himself, Kyle Busch. Just take a look at Busch’s fiery comments and the sheer amount of dominance he has shown over his career. Unfortunately for Busch, he isn’t having his usual luck in 2022, but that could just be growing pains associated with the next-gen car that NASCAR introduced at the beginning of the season.

Whatever happens next, Kyle Busch is this generation’s Dale Earnhardt. He is an aggressive driver willing to win at all costs, and it shows. That’s why he is truly the best of villains
