5 Players Pushing the Las Vegas Golden Knights to the Playoffs

These 5 players are why the Las Vegas Golden Knights are on the heels of yet another playoff run.

#5 Shea Theodore

Shea Theodore might only have seven goals this season, but he has been a beast when it comes to assists. In fact, he has a grand total of 34 assists this season, making him a reliable playmaker for the organization.  Furthermore, he has a plus/minus of 28, making him the most consistent player on the entire team. If nothing else,  Shea Theodore is always top-notch on the ice, and he’s at least part of the reason why Vegas is heading for yet another playoff run. He could be what helps them finally win that first Stanley Cup Championship.

Chandler Stephenson

Chandler Stephenson is another one who might not be the leading scorer for the team, but he is reliable when needed. Not only is that evident by his 12 goals and 19 assists so far this season, but also by the four game-winning goals he has as well. If nothing else, Stephenson might have some penalty trouble at times, which could hold him back in the playoffs, but he brings a level of depth to the team that has really allowed them to thrive this season.

#3 Mark Stone

Isn’t it just fitting that this man’s last name is stone? In all seriousness, the man has been nothing short of consistent and is definitely one of the leading reasons why the Golden Knights are where they are right now. Breaking down Stone’s stats, he has 20 goals, 37 assists, a +/- of 20 when on the ice, six power-play goals, 17 power-play points, and eight game-winning goals. The man is honestly an absolute beast when he gets put in the game and gives the team a competent scorer heading into the playoffs.

Max Pacioretty

Max Pacioretty is the kind of guy you can build a team around, and that’s exactly what the Golden Knights have done with him. Now, that doesn’t mean  “Patches” doesn’t have a lot of guys around him that carry their part of the load, but Pacioretty is arguably one of the centerpieces of this organization. With that being said, he has really lived up to that role this season, amassing  24 goals, 27 assists, six power-play goals, 12 power-play points, six game-winning goals, and four overtime goals in what has to be one of his best seasons. In the end, he is one of the reasons why the Golden Knights are heading to the playoffs, and he might be a reason why they win it too.

#1 Marc Andre Fleury and Robin Lehner

Can we just take a moment to appreciate how great the goalie combination of Robin Lehner and Marc Andre Fleury is? Seriously though, they took on a combined total of 1348 shots this season and have only allowed a total of 101 goals to pass through their net.  That’s right!  They managed to stop over 1200 goals in their tracks, making them a tough team to score against. Furthermore, these two have only allowed an average of two goals per game, making them one of the most iron-tight combos in the league. Finally, they are just at the top of their game right now, and it has led the Golden Knights to countless wins this season.
