Las Vegas Golden Knights backup goalie Laurent Brossoit has some heavy shoes to fill in the 2021-2022 NHL season, but he has begun the process with a few solid preseason games. In fact, between a shutout against the Los Angeles Kings and holding tough in the final minutes against the Colorado Avalance, the man undoubtedly deserving of some praise. He might be a better backup for Robin Lehner than fans initially thought.
All in all, Brossoit currently sits 2-0 in preseason starts, has been shot at 60 times, and has allowed only three goals to get by him. Whether this continues into the regular season remains to be seen, but this is a promising start.
