Worst Hotels in Vegas

Are you touring Las Vegas for the first time? Beyond the glitz and glamour, there is a not-so-pleasant side of the Sin City you should know about. There are a few hotels that can ruin your entire trip. Here are some hotels in Vegas you should avoid:

Palms Casino Resort

Back in the early ’00s, The Palms was known as a party resort beloved by celebrities and hot people. Unfortunately, times have changed. This award-winning hotel is now heaping up negative reviews for its poor customer service. One guest expressed frustration when seeking help regarding an additional charge on their credit card. Another, a Diamond Card holder who wasn’t receiving promotional email flyers, couldn’t get it sorted even after talking to about 20 different employees. Some Yelp reviews highlight staying on hold for up to an hour when calling the resort.

Siegel Suites – Tropicana

A room at Siegel Hotel

Now, Siegel Suites -Tropicana doesn’t pretend to be fancy. With as little as $268 per week, you can rent an apartment regardless of your credit rating. However, residents complain about the poor amenities at this short-stay hotel. Cockroach infestations, air conditioning not working during the summer, and bad customer service are apparently common. Further, some reviews report a serious security concern, with some guests noting the neighborhood surrounding the apartments is dangerous despite its proximity to the Strip.

Luxor Hotel & Casino

If you pay attention to reviews, The Luxor may not be the best place to crash after a long expedition in Vegas. It boasts unique pyramid rooms, but many guests mention dissatisfaction with the amount of walking required to reach the central area of the Las Vegas Strip from the hotel. The hotel is located at the southern end of the Strip, so it’s a good idea to bring comfortable walking shoes or plan on using rideshares or taxis when staying at the Luxor. People also claim the rooms are outdated and unimpressive.

Flamingo Las Vegas

Flamingo Las Vegas has a great location on the Las Vegas Strip, especially during the Formula 1 Vegas Grand Prix. Still, the hotel has negative Google reviews regarding overpriced services, run-down amenities, and rooms smelling like cigarettes and pot.

Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino

Rio

Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, the former home of the World Series Porker, is still a favorite option for professional poker players. Only, there have been claims of gunpoint high-profile robberies by guests at checkout, long check-in processes, and restaurants remaining closed at peak hours.
