The Venetian Poker Room has been a staple in the Las Vegas poker scene since it opened its doors in 2006. It quickly became known for its high-quality poker action, cash games, and tournaments.
In its short span, the Venetian Poker Room has hosted some of the biggest poker tournaments in the world, including the Venetian DeepStack series, World Poker Tour (WPT), and Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT). The room has also been home to some of the most successful poker players in the world, including Phil Ivey, Doyle Brunson, and Daniel Negreanu.
Due to its rapid growth and thousands of players visiting the room, the resort officials have seen the need to expand the poker room to a 14,000-square-foot space by relocating from the Venetian’s casino floor to level 2 of the Grand Canal Shoppes. Poker room expansion is rare, but this will be great for the sport. However, the resort is keeping the renovation costs hidden as they revamp one of the best casino rooms in Las Vegas.
Bigger Room, More Features
The venue’s shift includes an expanded floor space and other amenities to boost players’ comfort while playing poker. One significant change that players will notice apart from the venue’s shift is that the poker room will increase from 35 tables to 50 tables.
Some of the features that will be in the new poker room are
- In-room restrooms
- Self-serve drink machines
- Dedicated charging ports at every seat
- Easy food ordering and delivery.

Poker Uninterrupted by Venue Shift
Shifting and renovations will likely take a while to complete, but don’t worry. The old Venetian poker room will be open until the new room is renovated. However, the resort’s management has been tight-lipped about the official opening dates of the new poker room.
More Convenience
Moving to the Grand Canal Shoppes will provide players better access to the Las Vegas shopping district, with the Palazzo self-parking garage and many restaurants nearby.
