Run To See ‘HUNDREDS OF BEAVERS’

Beverly Theater to host encore showings of one of the funniest movies in history…

UPDATE 5/14/24 – Hundreds of Beavers is back for its fourth go-round in Las Vegas. It returns to The Beverly Theater on May 17th for five showings. May 31st showtime will feature Raccoon Hat Raffle. Wear a beaver-inspired costume to enter. Click here for dates, times, and tickets.

Drive your car. Hop on a plane. Take a dog team and sled. Do whatever is necessary….but get yourself to The Beverly Theater this week for HUNDREDS OF BEAVERS. The one-of-a-kind all-ages comedy is back for a third round of chaos and will be playing May 3rd through the 6th. Get your tickets here.

“In this 19th-century, supernatural winter epic, a drunken applejack salesman must go from zero to hero and become North America’s greatest fur trapper by defeating hundreds of beavers.”

HUNDREDS OF BEAVERS is as ridiculous as the name suggests. It’s a black-and-white live-action cartoon filled with side-splitting sequences, wild special effects, a rugged hero, 6-foot bunnies, a single-minded woodpecker, an amorous fur trader, and an army of beavers that sets out to rule the world…log by log.

There’s no reason for a movie like this to work, which may be exactly why it does. HUNDREDS OF BEAVERS is sweeping every independent film award, has already gained a rabid following, and is destined to be a midnight movie perennial.

But don’t wait for the hype to twist your arm, and avoid viewing it at home for the first time unless that’s your only option. HUNDREDS OF BEAVERS is a communal experience in every way. This treasure is meant to be seen in a darkened movie theater, where you can share the laughs with dozens of others.

“The beavers are really actors in giant mascot costumes – the movie is not trying to hide that but lean into it – along with thousands of effects shots, puppetry, miniatures and props used to amazing comedic effect that must be seen with a live audience to truly go nuts with. Made in Wisconsin over two very cold winters for $150.000 by two high school buddies, it doesn’t get more indie than this.”

“This is the funniest movie I have ever seen. The sheer relentless pace of the gags is like nothing else, ever. Brilliant and silly and altogether wonderful. Go see it!” – @devoncopley8047

“If you have not seen Hundreds Of Beavers find it. Do whatever it takes and see it. And when you see it get ready to laugh your _ off. Then you will know why it’s winning all the awards at the different festivals.” – @ricl2334

“A singular live-action cartoon of inspired slapstick….Itself a sort of vast homage to comedy traditions past, “Hundreds of Beavers” will certainly recall for many viewers the Road Runner v. Coyote saga, as well as pre-talkie knockabout humor, frontier parody “Cannibal: The Musical,” pioneering screen fantasists Georges Melies and Karel Zeman, and so on. On paper, it would hardly be expected to remain funny for eight minutes, let alone 108. But this ingeniously home-made lark never runs out of steam.” – Dennis Harvey, Variety

The Las Vegas premiere took place April 14th at Downtown Cinemas. The screening was followed by a taping of PIECING IT TOGETHER, a film-fan podcast created and hosted by David Rosen. You can watch the episode by heading here. Rosen later interviewed director Mike Cheslik on April 20th, and you can check that out here.

Dowtown’s new Beverly Theater picked up HUNDREDS OF BEAVERS for a single showing on April 23rd, and now it’s back for more. Head to the Beverly Theater website for tickets, times, and more information. You can thank us after the movie.

The Beverly Theater is located at 515 S 6th Street in downtown Las Vegas. Ample on-street parking is available.
