Las Vegas Days, otherwise known as Helldorado Days, celebrates the history of Las Vegas in an annual western event.
2022 Las Vegas Days
The Las Vegas Days Rodeo, which used to be called Helldorado Days, is an annual rodeo and wild west celebration held in honor of the history of Las Vegas. For two days, this free event takes over the downtown area with an outdoor arena behind the Plaza Hotel and Casino.
This year, on Friday, November 11, and Saturday, November 12, the rodeo will be in full swing! Each night the fun will begin at 6 pm.
Rodeo Events & Contests
The rodeo will feature events like professional barrel racing, bull riding, steer wrestling, tie-down, and team roping, plus bareback riding and saddle bronc riding. There will also be contests for the public to participate in.
Mutton Busting will be open to kids ages 4 to 10 who are 60 pounds or under. Children, along with a parent, can enter by checking in on Friday and/or Saturday at 5 pm. 10 participants will be accepted each day on a first-come, first-serve basis. Helmets will be provided for all. A cowboy and cowgirl winner will receive a belt buckle for each day’s competition.
The Whiskerino Contest is a beard and mustache competition. Awards will be given for categories of longest beard, longest mustache, most unique, worst beard, and best natural. Competitors must send in a picture of their beard or mustache by October 28th. Winners must be in attendance to claim their prize. Prizes include a two-night stay at the Plaza, dinner for two at Oscar’s Steakhouse, a $75 bar credit to the Sand Dollar Lounge, or a grooming basket.
Admission to the Las Vegas Days Rodeo is free for all. While the event is free and open to the public, tickets are first come, first serve for seats inside of the CORE Arena. Reserve yours online.
