5 Best Atheletes in Las Vegas' History

Are these the top-five best athletes in Las Vegas' history? While "best" is a subjective term and will vary from person to person, join us as we count down our picks for the best athletes in Sin City.

1. Kyle Busch

Believe it or not, Kyle Busch is probably one of the most successful athletes in the history of Las Vegas Nevada, and deserves a lot more credit than he usually gets. Of course, a lot of him being overlooked has to do with whether a person considers NASCAR a sport or not, but his numbers across NASCAR s three top series are something to be proud of.

In fact, Kyle Busch has racked up over 200 wins in NASCAR s top three series throughout his 18-year career and has two Cup Series titles to his name. He also runs a Truck Series team, which has been very competitive over the years and continues to be championship contenders to this day.

2. Playboy Buddy Rose

What is there to say that hasn t already been said about The Playboy, Buddy Rose? I mean this man was a WWE Hall of Famer, one of the best mid-carders in WWE history. This man embodied the playboy lifestyle and it worked so well that he was often the most hated heel on the roster.

In the end, his accomplishments are undeniable.

3. Demarco Murray

While Demarco Murray might not have had a very long career in the NFL, he quickly made up for that with the impact he brought to every team he went to. Of course, Murray didn t really find his rhythm until his third season with the Dallas Cowboys, but once he finally did, he was almost impossible to stop.

Not only is that evident by his back to back seasons with 1000 yards or more, but also by how he racked up over 1800 yards in that second season. Add in the fact that he reached the endzone 19 times in those two years and you can easily see why Murray was a force to be reckoned with and one of the best players in Vegas' history.

4. Frank Mir

Frank Mir is nothing short of an absolute beast and he has more than proven that throughout his career in UFC. Not only is that evident by how he broke a man s arm in 50 seconds to win the UFC Heavyweight title, but also how he recovered from a motorcycle injury to do it all over again.

In the end, there are few men that even come close to matching this man s grit, determination, and dominance. He is an anomaly that will likely never be seen again in this lifetime.  He is also the true definition of a fighter and one of the best athletes ever to come from Las Vegas, Nevada.

5. Andre Agassi

Believe it or not, this man was once described as a rock star of the tennis scene back in the day. He went on to win eight grand slam titles and even participated in the Olympics

Want to know the craziest part? He was runner up in seven other grand slam championships, which makes him one of the most consistent players of all time! Beyond that, he ended up winning the career Golden slam award and The ATP Tour world championships, giving him the distinction of the only player in history to achieve what is dubbed the career super slam award.
