“Mr. Simpson was telling us how life keeps screwing him.” That's one of my favorite quotes from The Simpsons. So, much of us fades as we age — our belief in people, dreams, and, of course, magic.
Now, I'm not trying to restore your childlike innocence, but after seeing
The Conjurors: Cabin of Wonders, I can tell you, “I want to believe.”
Vegas is full of Cirque du Soleil shows and magic shows. They all follow the same routine, and some even recycle the same tricks.
So, I thought I knew what to expect while attending
Cabin of Wonders, performed by Matthew Pomeroy and Natasha Lamb. But...
I was shocked. It was amazing!
The show is set in an intimate venue at The Orleans, where you would think it would be easy to spot sleights of hand and visual redirection. Not so.
The Show
Natasha and Matthew are absolute pros, and their talent drives the show. They demonstrate the perfection that can only be achieved through hours of practice and refinement and layer upon layer of improbabilities and tricks. As soon as you think a trick is done, more unfolds. The Conjurors is like a remix of magic shows.
The performers combined magic tricks, mind reading, and family fun, with just enough adulting added to keep everyone above the age of 11 interested.
I can see why the duo has performed for Lady Gaga, Penn & Teller, Daniel Radcliff, and Gordon Ramsey, among many other stars. You can't take pictures during the show, so I can't wow you with snaps of their most impressive feats.

The Mystery
I tried incredibly hard to see what they were doing. I wanted to know how they were making the illusions work, if they were hiding stuff up their sleeves, and if there were cameras and mirrors. Nothing, nada, I could not figure out even one simple thing.
After a while, I realized joy and amazement come from
not knowing how they did it and getting caught up in the story.
The best thing about
The Conjurors is that they did not hide that they were trying to influence your decisions, making me even more astonished when they did.
This show was a mind-F. I still don’t know how they did it, but I no longer want to. I will just believe that it is all “magic,” and I think that is the real
magic of the show.
The Conjurors are currently showing at The Orleans Casino; you can find their show schedule
