Step into Khoury’s: Where Liquor Store Meets Social Hub

Where everybody knows your name…. Now, I promised myself I would not make the Cheers reference when discussing one of the coolest liquor stores in Las Vegas. But I can’t help it; the comparison is apt.
I made the same observation while interviewing Issa Khoury AND Milena DiFiore, Media and Marketing Director for Khoury’s, and to be fair, they said they get that comparison all the time.
Khoury’s is a hidden gem in southern Las Vegas. Where else can you explore a bar with beer flights and wine by the glass and purchase hard-to-find liquors? Even better, the place has a bright, community-oriented atmosphere.

Khoury’s prides itself on being “the third place.” Milena states, “People have their first place, which is their home, their second place, which is their work, and then the “third place” where you can be in that social zone without, say, being a restaurant.”
One notices right away that Khoury’s has ample seating for families who want to play board games while their parents enjoy any of their 20 beers on tap or a glass of wine. They also have a kids’ library where kids can read books while they spend time with their families.
While Khoury’s does not serve food, it has daily food trucks in the parking lot and allows food in the store.
Khoury's clean atmosphere makes it a good spot for a solo woman to relax and enjoy a drink. While I was there, I saw a woman enjoying a glass of wine and diligently working at her computer while two more women chatted over a beer.
After all, this place is comfortable; it feels like everyone knows your name (you hear the music, right?).
In fact, the staff did greet people by name, and there were clearly regulars sitting around enjoying a drink, maybe watching the game on TV.
The bar area is full of board games and UNO, making it easy to make friends.

Milena spoke of Khoury’s dedication to local businesses and patrons. The store has a community calendar full of professionals who come in and discuss things such as plant growing, as well as classes on professional services. In addition, they have drink classes where you can learn about the different liquors and their history.
Khoury also works with local non-profits like Three Square and S.A.F.E House, including holding toy drives during the holiday season. And they support other Las Vegas businesses, such as 2 Pupz Confectionery and local breweries, keeping the ties between locals and local businesses strong.

OH, and did I mention the best part? Khoury’s is dog-friendly! My dog goes there with me every time. Isn't she adorable?
Khoury’s is a communal place. Think of it as a coffee shop for liquor, beer, and wine. I doubt you can find another place quite like this one. Fortunately, if you're in Las Vegas, you don't have to.
