It's one thing to see showgirls in performance, but there is more than meets the eye when it comes to these beauties. Being a showgirl is hard work, especially if you're performing on stage.

Here are five rules every Las Vegas showgirl must follow.

1. You must be tall

Most showgirls are tall, and not just because they wear heels. If you want to work in a casino production, you should be a minimum of 5"8. This way, there is uniformity in the performance, although some are taller than this, as tall as 6"0 and more.

If you haven't guessed already, this raises the bar for male performers, who must be much taller to complement their female counterparts.

2. You need to be fit

Being a showgirl is more than being a dancer. Many routines require a high fitness level that only individuals in athletic shape can pull off. Thus, all showgirls often work out thoroughly to keep in shape and become fit enough to handle multiple intense performances back to back if required. It takes hard work, discipline, and dedication to achieve this. Many people can barely walk in heels. Now picture dancing in them; only fit individuals can seamlessly hack this.

3. You should be a fantastic dancer

All showgirls need to have some form of dance background for consideration as a showgirl. Many have a background in ballet dancing, but it could be any other form of classical dance. This is because any previous professional training serves as experience in a similar field, and it shows the dancer can handle long training sessions and have the dedication of a professional dancer to take their role as a showgirl with the seriousness it deserves.

4. Taking care of your costumes is required

Every showgirl is responsible for their costumes and must maintain them in pristine condition. It does not matter that they do not personally own these costumes, but it is up to them to keep them in good shape for the duration they have them. Accidents happen, and you could have normal wear and tear, which is where the showgirl's duty comes in to ensure that these are restored before any irreversible damage.

5. Your makeup needs to be perfect

There are rules as far as hair and makeup are involved. Every showgirl must wear a pantyhose cap covering their hair, forming the base for the fancy headdresses. As for makeup, every girl does their own and ensures they look put together. The go-to look should be simple yet perfect because of the vigorous nature of the performances.

So, what do you think? Are you ready to strut your stuff as a Las Vegas showgirl?
