Harold’s Chicken is a long-standing restaurant that specializes in authentic homemade fried chicken and catfish. The restaurant opened back in 1950 in Chicago, but now it’s moved to Vegas and Henderson with two locations. 

 

Chicago Fast Food

Harold’s Chicken was founded by Harold Pearce in 1950 in Chicago. Pearce and his wife owned and operated their local fast food restaurant, achieving great success. This was mainly because large chains were avoiding African American neighborhoods and Pearce’s black-owned business stepped in to serve the community. 

Now the iconic Chicago restaurant has moved to Vegas.

The Menu 

Harold’s menu features a variety of chicken and more! You can choose from fried chicken, wings, chicken breast, thighs, tenders, chicken and waffles, light meat, dark meat, or a combination of all of them. 

Unlike other chicken restaurants in town, Harold’s also serves catfish. Try it fried, in a sandwich, or the catfish nuggets. The restaurant also serves livers and gizzards, if you’re feeling extra adventurous. 

Combination dinners are a great way to try everything on the menu. You can get a mix of chicken, catfish, shrimp, and lobster bites.  

Don’t forget the sides to go with whatever meats you choose. Mozzarella sticks, french fries, coleslaw, fried string beans, mac & cheese, cauliflower, mushrooms, pickle chips, okra, and pizza puffs all pair well with the rest of the items on the menu.

Dessert is a must too. Try the strawberry pudding, banana pudding, pound cake, cookies, or strawberry shortcake grapes. One thing’s for sure, you won’t leave Harold’s hungry! 

 

Hours & Locations 

Harold’s Chicken currently has two locations in town; one in Henderson and one in Las Vegas. Both are open Monday through Saturday from 11 am to 10 pm. 

The Henderson location offers takeout.
