5 CRAZY Las Vegas Raiders Rumors... That Might be True

You won't believe how different the Las Vegas Raiders could look in 2021.

Jon Gruden's here to stay

Believe it or not, Jon Gruden doesn't appear to be on the hot seat for his job in Las Vegas. Again, that might be hard to believe after their 7-9 nothing-burger of a season, but it seems like it wasn't enough to upset Raiders officials. In fact, Las Vegas Raiders owner, Mark Davis, claims he absolutely has faith in Gruden as head coach. The owner even went so far as to say that the team's shortcomings had more to do with the virus than with the squad's actual performance.

"We were really looking forward to this inaugural season in Las Vegas our new practice facility and everything else. All the things we dreamed of were coming true. But this season and I ve said it many, many, many times life got in the way with the virus," he said.

Is Mark Davis always going to be this chipper in regards to his head coach, or will a few bad games in 2021 change his mind? Hopefully, Davis will remain open to the idea if things end upgoing south next season. Otherwise, the team runs the risk of self-destructing right before our very eyes.

Raiders want Odell Beckam Jr

What if Odell Beckham Jr decided to take his talents to Las Vegas and join the Raiders? While that might sound like a fever dream, it could be a reality if a few key pieces fall into place. The first one of these is Nelson Agholor, who signed a one-year deal with the Raiders last season, and has more than proven himself as a weapon for the team. Unfortunately for the Raiders, Agholor is supposedly not happy with the team's performance and might be looking for greener pastures in 2021

And that's where Odell Beckham Jr comes in. Now, it's being reported that Gruden has wanted OBJ on his team for years now, but was never able to put up a worthy trade for the Ssuperstar. With that being said, if Gruden can find a way to finally bring OBJ to Las Vegas, there should be no doubt in anyone's mind that he would capitalize on it. Think about it! The guy would be a great receiver for Carr's longer throws and could guide the other receivers on the team.

Derek Carr for Deshaun Watson?

Deshaun Watson is apparently thinking about Texas after a disappointing 4-12 season with the Texans- and rumors are running rampant that the Raiders might want him. Some speculation has even suggested that the Raiders are willing to deal Derek Carr to the Colts and Marcus Mariota to the Texans in a three-quarterback super trade.

Is this likely? Probably not. Derek Carr was one of the most consistent quarterbacks in the league last year, and while the season record doesn't exactly reflect that, it would be wild if they got rid of Carr now. Another big problem would be getting rid of Mariota, who is more than a serviceable backup for Carr and could end up starting himself.

Aaron Rodgers joining the Raiders.

Keep in mind that this is basically a long shot, but there have been some rumors circulating online that Aaron Rodgers could end up in Las Vegas before all is said and done. Of course, this would put Derek Carr and Marcus Mariota at second-string and third-string, respectively, but Rodgers is a talent you can't pass up. The only problem with this alleged move is that Rodgers would be in pretty much the same situation he was back in Green Bay.

Rodgers' move is supposedly because they don't have the proper weapons for him in Green Bay, which will only be amplified if he goes to Las Vegas. Sure, Hunter Renfrow, Henry Ruggs III and Joshua Jacobs all have potential, but they are nowhere near where Rodgers would need them to be.

Derek Carr staying put

It's no secret that there are a lot of rumors regarding Derek Carr potentially leaving the Las Vegas Raiders, but how much truth is there to these wild stories? Seriously though, one story has him going to the Texans and another has him with the Detroit Lions. Furthermore, another story believes that backup quarterback Marcus Mariota will be traded to the Colts as a part of the Derek Carr deal, which would leave the Raiders with Deshaun Watson at the helm.

While some fans might legitimately want Carr gone, especially after how bad last season was, it doesn't look like Vegas can afford to lose Derek Carr at all. Interestingly enough, ESPN reporter Adam Schefter, seems to believe that Derek Carr will be staying put in 2021, which is good news for those wanting the team to go forward.

There s no intention that they are willing to move off of Derek Carr at this point in time. Now, Jon Gruden is always looking at quarterbacks and they also have Marcus Mariota under a two-year contract, but Carr played well this year and you have to figure they d like to stick with him going into next year. No intention to move off him at this time, NFL insider Adam Schefter reported on ESPN NFL Sunday Countdown.
