5 Biggest Plays From Sunday's Raiders vs Chargers Game

The Las Vegas Raiders defeated the Los Angeles Chargers Sunday, and it was a big win for several different reasons. We caught a glimpse of how the Raiders might perform in the playoffs.

#5 Stopping the run in the first quarter

The Las Vegas Raiders defense seems to get better week after week. That was proven in the first quarter of Sunday's game. Between stopping two run plays and doing a pretty good job of pressuring the quarterback, you have to wonder if this is the kind of defense that will show up from now on.

Justin Herbert completed a few good passes on the defense during the drive, but they seemingly got annihilated when it came to the run game. Hopefully, that is a trend that continues for the Raiders as time goes on, but don't count on it.

#4 First quarter touchdown by Devonte Parker

What s better than the Las Vegas Raiders getting a key stop on another team? What about the team's offense moving their way down the field and putting points on the board at the end? Believe it or not, that is exactly what happened on Sunday, and watching Devonte Booker score that touchdown was cathartic.

Keep in mind that this drive started out with two run plays, which resulted in a total of 14 yards. Once the Chargers defense was loosened up a bit, Carr hit Jalen Richard for a 19-yard catch to put the team in scoring range. From there, all it took was a 23-yard rushing touchdown from Devonte Booker, and the Raiders had points on the board.

#3 Another key defensive stop in the second quarter

A four-yard pass. That's all the Chargers were able to do during this key drive, and it is something that probably ended up helping them lose the game. Furthermore, a sack by for a nine-yard loss also happened during this drive, which ultimately forced the Chargers to punt the ball away into the Las Vegas Raiders' eager arms.

It's a nice trend to see the defense putting up these kinds of efforts. Whether that continues into the coming weeks or not remains to be seen but being able to put that kind of pressure on a quarterback is something that could take them to the playoffs.

#2 Josh Jacobs run in for a touchdown

It's no secret that Josh Jacobs has had an up and down season so far this year, and that's part of the reason why it was so awesome to see him utilized during this game. Between two strong rushes in the first quarter and his 14-yard run to the house on this play, it's safe to say that Jacobs was once again a crucial factor of the team.

Of course, Jacobs only managed 65 yards throughout the day, which isn't the best for a running back, but the yards he accumulated are what helped the team win the game.

#1 Derek Carr seals the deal with two touchdowns

People want to talk trash about Derek Carr and claim the Raiders would be better off with another quarterback, but Carr was able to prove his haters wrong by scoring two touchdowns in the second half of the game and locking up a victory.

The first one was a 45-yard-deep pass from Carr to Agholor, which perfectly exemplified Derek Carr's cannon of an arm. It was also a nice catch for Agholor, who has been a key weapon for Carr this season. The second one was a 2-yard pass from Carr to Wallner that pretty much sealed the deal for the Las Vegas Raiders.
