5 Biggest Las Vegas Sports Stories Oct 25 - 31st

A lot happened this week in Las Vegas sports and we are going to walk you through every bit of it!

#5 Kyle Busch finally breaks winless streak at Texas Motor Speedway

It may have taken almost a calendar year, several agonizingly long rain delays, and 334 laps, but Kyle Busch finally got back to victory lane last Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway. While the victory won t help Busch win the championship, especially since he was eliminated in the round of 12 a couple of weeks ago, it does keep his streak of 16 straight seasons with a victory alive.

Of course, that is little comfort to a man chasing his second consecutive championship and the third of his Cup Series career, but it s nice to see the Las Vegas native finally find some success after months of poor results. It is also a sign that Busch, 35 years old, can still be a threat in the Cup Series for years to come.

Busch will have to wait another year to chase his third consecutive championship, but a victory at Texas is at least a big step in the right direction. Whether he can continue to perform at this level and nab more wins before the season is over remains to be seen, but earning a 57th victory at NASCAR s highest level of competition is a huge feather in the man s cap.

#4 Kurt Busch will likely miss out of championship four at Phoenix Raceway

While Kyle Busch was busy doing interviews in victory lane after almost a year without a win, Kurt Busch was quietly mulling his chances of making it to the final four after Sunday s race at Texas. Unfortunately for Busch, who has been behind the eight ball ever since an engine failure at Kansas Motor Speedway, his chances range from slim to none heading into Martinsville Raceway.

In fact, Kurt Busch is currently 81 points below the cutline and needs a win at Martinsville to advance to the final four. Busch isn t the only one needing a win to make the final four, however, as Chase Elliott, Alex Bowman, and Martin Truex Jr find themselves virtually in the same situation. This means that Busch will have to duke it out with three other potential contenders to make the final four.

It might be a long shot for Kurt Busch to make the final four of his career, but that s what racing is all about. It s about the thrill of watching a dark horse coming up through the field and steal the win for themselves. Hopefully, that s what happens for Kurt Busch at Martinsville; otherwise he will have to wait another year to get title number two.

#3 Circa Resorts changes the game with biggest sportsbook in Las Vegas

Luxury seating, 50 hours of weekly programming and beer and wings on tap. That s probably what most fans think of when they think of sports heaven, but it is now very much a reality. Circa Resortsjust opened in the city of Las Vegas and is a three-story betting haven for those that want to immerse themselves in the experience.

Want to know what the best part is? It s the biggest sportsbook in the entire town of Las Vegas, consists of 1580 pixels, and is probably the most fun you re going to have during this ongoing pandemic. Seriously though, this facility can hold up to 1000 people, takes ten employees to operate, and will probably be jam-packed with excitement during Sunday NFL football.

#2 Bryan Edwards questionable for Sunday's game against Cleveland

A key part in the Raiders winning this Sunday against the Cleveland Browns is moving the ball around, which will be hard to do with rookie receiver, Bryan Edward s listed as questionable. Bryan was injured during a week three game against the New England Patriots, where he suffered a foot injury. He has been sidelined since then, and it s really hurting the Raiders.

Of course, their defense, lack of receivers, and nonexistent running game isn t helping things much, but having Edwards back would at least stop the bleeding. It might even help Derek Carr get the ball down the field more and lead to more scores. While this likely won t be the case for Sunday s game against Cleveland, there is always the future games to look forward to.

#1 Fans losing confidence in Las Vegas Raiders' direction

The 3-3 Las Vegas Raiders are said to be in the hunt for a playoff spot this season and there are a lot of different variables that can affect that outcome. For example, if Derek Carr were to go down with a five-game injury, Marcus Mariota would be their new quarterback and the entire offense would have to shift to do that.

Unfortunately, the Raiders, who had a 100% confidence rating at silverandblackpride.com after defeating the Kansas City Chiefs, now sit with 79%. That means 21% of Raiders fans have doubts about what the team is doing and if they can make a playoff run. Furthermore, they are starting to see that defense is what wins games and know that the Raiders aren t doing well on that side of the ball.

Although it s unlikely we will see Derek Carr, Henry Ruggs III, or Josh Jacobs taken out, Trent Brown, the defensive coach and anyone else on the struggling defense is pretty much fair game at this point.
