The Las Vegas Raiders show some big improvements, the Sphere books its first sporting event, and an update on where the Athletics will be playing. Let's talk last week in Las Vegas sports (Nov 20 - 26).

The Sphere has everyone in Las Vegas raving, and for good reason. It's a $2.3 billion stadium that will likely change how the city watches sports.
Now we know that Noche UFC will be the first sports event at the Sphere in September 2024.
"Everybody keeps saying to me, 'I don't understand how you're going to put the Octagon in there,'" White said when asked about the event. "I don't understand how you're going to do this, I don't understand how you're going to do that... Remember that I said this to you tonight."
#4 Davantae Adams comments on Aidan O’Connell as Las Vegas Raiders QB

Davantae Adams has been a constant source of trade conversations, which some expect to continue into the offseason. However, Adams is seemingly putting those rumors to bed after giving a glowing review of Aidan O’Connell as quarterback.
"A lot of good," Adams said when asked about the positives he's seeing. "Obviously, a lot of things he can learn from as well. That comes with playing quarterback in his league. Those are, I think somebody said to me after the game, the growing pains of playing this position. It's the toughest one to play, but he's done a great job, made some big strides since he first got here, and he's just continuing to evolve and learn."
Now, this isn’t a guaranteed sign that Adams will stay with the Raiders, but it is a step in the right direction. At the very least, he likes what he’s seeing from O’Connell and might want to stick around to help lead the charge. It really depends on how the rest of the season goes and how O’Connell does in getting the team to the postseason.

30 MLB owners voted to approve the Athletics' move to Las Vegas, bringing another sport to Sin City. Their $1.5 billion stadium still faces a few hurdles before everything is said and done, and the team needs a place to play in the meantime.
There are many options available for the A's, including Oakland Coliseum. Others include Oracle Park, Las Vegas BallPark, and Hohokam Stadium. A range of other Triple-A affiliate parks are also being considered, but the best option seems to be Oakland. On the other hand, the door is also open to dip for Las Vegas early.
According to Matt Snyder of CBSsports.com: "I'd say the best bet is the A's playing all of 2024 in Oakland Coliseum, and it's possible they work with the city to grab a short-term lease to play there in ensuing seasons, but, again, they've told people they want a revolving group of homes.."

#2 Las Vegas Encouraging Excessive Celebration at 2024 Super Bowl

Las Vegas is set to host Super Bowl XLVIII, and fans are excited about it. Others are calling for sports fans in Las Vegas to be allowed to celebrate excessively during the Super Bowl. The Change.org petition cites a right to celebrate as they see fit and show the world the energy that Sin City has.
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority even ran an ad that featured Chad Ochocinco and Tobe Nwigwe. The 90-second music video ad focuses on the legendary wide receiver recreating his greatest celebrations in hopes of hyping viewers up.
“Las Vegas is built for celebration,” Steve Hill, president and CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, said. “People come to Vegas because they know that the excitement surrounding the game is just as important as the game itself."

#1 Las Vegas Raiders lose second game in a row to Kansas City Cheifs

The Las Vegas Raiders lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 31-17. Despite this loss, Las Vegas has shown major improvements under Atontio Peirce as head coach. There is a lot more smart decision-making going on, and the players are continuing to rally around him.
Aidan O’Connell went 23 of 33 for 248 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions. He needs to improve his red zone efficiency, but notice that he is cutting down on his mistakes. Joshua Jacobs also helped move the ball with 110 yards and one touchdown in 20 carries.
They utilized Jakobi Meyers, Davantae Adams, and Hunter Renfrow, which helped move the ball. Meyers caught six balls for 79 yards and a touchdown. Davantae Adams also made a statement with five catches for 73 yards.
What's most surprising, however, is the Las Vegas Defense. The squad held the Chiefs scoreless in the first quarter, marking a major improvement. Of course, the Chiefs scored 14 points in the second half to tie the game, but it’s nice to watch the defense getting stronger.
Same old Raiders in the second half of the game

The second half is where things went back to normal. As if on cue, the Raiders allowed 14 points by the Chiefs. The Raiders' offense also deserves blame for not doing the most with their minutes in the third and fourth quarters. O’Connell and Jacobs deserve a lot of blame for scoring only three points in the second half.
Antonio Peirce is 2-2, but it’s hard to argue against the changes. The defense looks better in the first half, and the offense is keeping pace. The loss is saddening, and it probably means the Raiders' playoff hopes are on life support, but the tides are still changing.
