Rebellion has taken different shapes from generation to generation. We had the free-love hippie movement, draft dodgers and bra burners, and guys with long hair in the 80s (we thought they were so hot…and they were).
Now we have Little Miss Nasty.

Little Miss Nasty (LMN) is an all-female band known for their provocative stage show set to metal and rock music.
I had the pleasure of interviewing Gina Katon, founder and creator of Little Miss Nasty, ahead of their November 17th show celebrating Sex, Art, and Rebellion at Las Vegas'
The Usual Place.
On the surface, the band/artists/performers/women, whichever you prefer, may seem like the typical tits & ass entertainment show that's tailor-made for Las Vegas. Speak to Gina, however, and you will find a solid message.
But please, be aware there will still be T & A aplenty, a fact that Little Miss Nasty delights in.
\MoM/: So I am assuming obviously that most of the fan base skews male? Would I be correct in saying that?
"No, you are completely wrong,"
Gina chided me. "80% female...we just played Wichita the other night... one of our girls, Kendra, stage dove, and for five rows back, it was all females screaming their faces off, crying, reaching for us. All the women caught her, carried her back, pushed her up. It was beautiful."
Gina made it clear multiple times throughout our conversation that the thing she hates most is a closed mind. You can sense the same message in her lyrics.
Gina: "Because I see people with closed minds, and I feel bad for them. You know? I have such an open mind. I always have, and that's why I feel like I'm here to spread that to other people... Like, open your mind. Who gives a fuck? Let them be."

Following LMN on IG
@littlemissnasty, you can see exactly how this open-mindedness plays into LMN's stage show: taped nipples (courtesy of influence Wendy O. Williams), plenty of twerking, and lots of exposed ass cheeks. Combined with pulsing metal music, these visuals make the show an unabashed celebration of women's sexuality.
\MoM/: How would you explain to somebody who would maybe see the YouTube clips or your Instagram and think, 'they're saying they're about empowerment, but, really, they're just a T & A show'?
Gina: "Mmm. Well, I think there's a huge misconception when people look at our Instagram or the promotions that we're putting out there. I feel people are so ashamed of sex and their bodies and nudity, and they're constantly trying to censor females. You know?"
"Look at some countries; you have to cover yourself head to toe and aren't even allowed to express yourself. You're not allowed to make art and put your feelings out there. I feel like that's complete bullshit, and I wanna prove to the people that we are everyday women who have respect for ourselves. I feel like so many women are
Buried in Sin."
"They have this whole thought process like, I can't show my body. I'll get judged. My mom will get mad at me. My family will disown me, but yet they want to feel that freedom of expression. One day, you're gonna be buried in the dirt. And, if you have that urge to rejoice in your beauty and sexuality, I say go for it."

The soon-to-be-released second single off their album
Weapon of Choice, due in January of 2024, is titled
Buried in Sin and was penned by Gina following a specific Las Vegas event.
After two nights of performing during their previous Vegas residency at Area15, the venue was told that LMN's show was too explicit to continue as is, and if immediate action was not taken to remedy the situation, Area 15 could lose its liquor license.
Gina picks up the story: "The city of Las Vegas contacts Area15 and threatens to close them down because of our show because we aren't following the zoning regulations. Apparently, Las Vegas is broken up into these zones where if you are in a 2-mile radius of a church or a school, you can't show any under boob, butt cheek, anything.
"So, Area15 tells us, 'if you wanna do your show tonight and if we don't wanna get it shut down and lose our liquor license, you have to fully cover. You have to wear a full top, full bottoms.'"
"Our show is very, very aerial based. Then we have this whole apparatus where we're climbing. Your skin has to connect to it, or else you'll fall to your death. We're not wearing tights. We can't do that. We're not covering our whole body. … That's not what we stand for."
"So, we asked for the laws written out so we could dissect them. And within it, you could be body painted and still show the skin. We're like, okay. Well, you didn't specify the color of the body paint. So, we body paint our tits and asses our exact skin tone. When you hear our song
Buried in Sin … you'll hear it's basically just saying fuck censorship."

The Big 4
- What was your first concert? "This is, like, so embarrassing. Alright, it was NSYNC and Britney Spears. Like late nineties, early 2000, somewhere around there. I idolized Britney Spears back then because I wanted to be her, of course. So that was my 1st concert, and I left with no voice because I was screaming my fucking head off."
- How much cash is in your wallet right now? "$0.00. I don't even spend it when I have it on me, but, you know, like, a lot of shows, we end up with a giant cash pile, and we call it our cash pile… Everything is digital."
- What is your favorite swear word? "Fuck. We have a whole "fuck” line in merch. I make punk jackets that say fuck on the back. We have fuck t-shirts. My dad's a musician, and he taught me how to say 'fuck' probably before 'dad.'"
- What song do you like to get your groove on to? **New readers groove=have sex to. "Fugees Killing me Softly, or Tweet's Oops (Oh My)."
LMN are multifaceted artists, performers, and aerial acrobatics. Be sure to grab their new album
Weapon of Choice in January 2024, which happens to coincide with their return to Area15 with a "full-blown intense experience with 360-degree visuals".
