From celebrating rockabilly culture at Viva Las Vegas to seeing a fashion show for charity and dancing at an adult prom, here’s what to do in Las Vegas this weekend (Apr 28 – 30).
1. Celebrate rockabilly culture and ogle classic cars

The 26th anniversary of Viva Las Vegas, the largest rockabilly event in the world, is making a comeback. The Orleans casino will play host to over 80 bands performing on six stages and numerous DJs throughout the four-day weekend. In addition to Tiki pool parties, fashion shows, burlesque presentations, and dance competitions, the main attraction is the Saturday car show featuring hundreds of vintage automobiles and performances by Dale Watson, Dave & Deke Combo, Cash’d Out, and others.
Atomic Style Lounge, located in the Arts District, is providing hair and makeup services in line with the event’s theme at both its home saloon and a pop-up shop at The Orleans.
Tickets start at $60 for the festival, $40 for just the car show.

2. Learn Las Vegas history and tour historic neighborhoods
The Nevada Preservation Foundation’s Home + History tours run this weekend only. With over 40 tours available, travel by foot, car, bus, or bicycle to see historic sites and homes.

3. See a fashion show for charity
Feel artsy and chic at the Spring Fashion Show, a Downtown Arts District event showcasing new seasonal styles by local boutiques. Front-row tickets get you a goodie bag and a drink ticket at one of the best low-intervention wine bars in the city, Akin Bar. The show supports Dress for Success, a charity for women in need.
Standing room is free, GA seats are $15, and front-row seating is $25.

4. Wonder at the Imaginarium
Be amazed at the Westgate’s Imaginarium, a roaming art show in town for 10 days. You’ll see over 20 exhibits featuring 5 million vibrant lights. Remember to check out the maze illuminated with enchanting creatures. Couples, there’s a “rose garden” created with 35,000 lights to resemble real roses if you want a more intimate night.

5. Dance under the stars at an adult prom
Remember prom? “A Night Under the Stars: An Adult Prom” at Fergusons Downtown is trying to take you back to high school. Dress in your sparkliest duds and dance on the newly renovated lawn. The event supports The Cupcake Girls, a non-profit organization helping adult industry professionals and victims of sex trafficking.
Tickets are $60 and include a drink.

6. Stuff your face with tacos

At the Tacos & Tamales Festival at Desert Breeze Park, you can nosh on eats from over 30 restaurants and food trucks. The party runs from 10 to 10, featuring alcohol tastings, live music, carnival rides, and lucha libre pro wrestling.

7. Enjoy Hawaiian culture
It’s almost Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Celebrate with the Flavors of Aloha festival on The Lawn at Downtown Summerlin. GA admission is free and there will be tons of food, artists, and performers. Spend the day immersing yourself in Pacific Islander culture.
