Experience the Desert Sky
The Planetarium is Southern Nevada’s only public planetarium. The unique theater has 66 seats where visitors have a chance to experience the desert sky in all its splendor.
When you visit, you can explore the stunning treasures of the nighttime sky. Each program is unique and offers a time to watch virtual realities projected inside a 30-foot dome.
Programs and public events delve into various astronomy topics. Each one features a unique journey. You can watch the sky surrounded by an Evans & Sutherland Digistar 5 high-definition hemispheric video projection system. The result is an enthralling educational and entertaining experience.
The Planetarium has special programs to foster education for K-12 students, support student success, and educate the public.
Shop the Astronomy Store
While visiting the Planetarium, check out the Astronomy Store. You’ll find a wide set of posters, models, scientific toys, and aids for observing the stars. The store is a great place to introduce kids to the wonders of astronomy.
Try out the fun astronaut ice cream, fruit, Space Pens, and more.
The store hours are Fridays from 5:30 to 9 pm. Saturday hours are 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 to 9:00 p.m.
Plan Your Visit
The Planetarium is very particular about timing and only offers seating to people who arrive on time. Late arrivals are not accommodated. New visitors should plan visits to arrive 15 minutes early to make sure there is sufficient time to locate the Planetarium, purchase tickets, and find seating.
How To Reach The Planetarium
The Planetarium at CSN is in the South Building of the North Las Vegas campus. The address is 3200 E. Cheyenne Avenue, North Las Vegas, NV 89030.
The easiest way to get to the Planetarium at CSN is to take the I-5. Take the exit East and drive for about one mile. You’ll see the North Las Vegas campus on your left.
If you prefer not to drive, the Planetarium is easily accessible with Las Vegas’s public transportation system. To find the best route from your location, visit RTCSNV.
How Much Does It Cost
The show costs $6.00 for adults. Discount admission is $5.00 for seniors over 55, children under 12, active military, and CSN students.
On the first Friday of the month, the Planetarium offers free admission to the 6, 7, or 8 p.m. show, with a valid CSN Student ID.
If you buy tickets for consecutive shows, the second ticket may be offered at half price.
