There’s a new anomaly on the Las Vegas Strip—and it leads to the Upside Down. A “Stranger Things” pop-up store now exists in the Showcase Mall area between the MGM and Coca-Cola World.
It’s free, immersive, and totally ǝƃuɐɹʇs.
Here’s an inside look at this eerie homage to the Netflix series.
Welcome to Hawkins… and Vegas!
You don’t walk “in” to Stranger Things: The Official Store… you go down to the experience via an escalator on the Strip. The setup means you can’t see a thing until you’re actually inside. No window shopping here, folks.
You find the first photo-op before you enter Hawkins. A giant, neon-red Stranger Things sign.
Step behind the wall, and it’s like entering a portal straight to Hawkins, Indiana.
Starcourt Mall
First, It’s Starcourt Mall, complete with retro signage and themed merchandise, much of which is only available at this specific store.
There are exclusive t-shirts, collectible figures, games, Hawkins High School hoodies, plushies, and even nostalgia-tinged candy.
Palace Arcade
When you’re bored with the mall, enter Hawkins’ Palace Arcade. It’s all neon and 80s-style arcade game, plus plenty of merch.
Hawkins High
Hawkins High puts you right into the 80s. Music blasts, the trophy case gleams, and you can check out the students’ lockers.
The store has a spooky vibe overall, but you can’t feel it here. This area is all pep.
Creel House Attic
The creepy atmosphere is back in the next room. It’s dark, atmospheric, and dominated by a full-size recreation of Vecna and his vines.
Joyce’s Living Room
One of the highlights of the pop-up is the Byers’ living room, with its famous alphabet wall and Christmas lights. It’s as if Joyce Byers herself left mere seconds ago, leaving the room exactly as it was when she was frantically trying to communicate with Will.
Do you dare to answer the yellow phone?
Into the Upside Down
For those brave enough, there’s an entrance to the Upside Down itself. This part of the store is the darkest yet. The Demogorgon literally bursts from the wall.
Final Thoughts
The Stranger Things experience is the perfect pop-up for fans. Every inch of the store seems to whisper, “You are in Hawkins now.” You can tell a lot of work went into the creation.
“We are thrilled to bring this retail experience to Las Vegas and give Stranger Things fans a chance to celebrate their love of this global phenomenon,” says Greg Lombardo, Head of Experiences at Netflix.
“We’re continuing to find new ways to engage with the fans and drive excitement for one of our most popular series. Stranger Things: The Official Store in Las Vegas is the largest store we’ve opened and is packed with 80s vibes and brand new, unique immersive elements and merchandise that Las Vegas residents and visitors alike will be stoked to be the first to experience.”
Whether you’re a die-hard fan or just looking for a unique experience in Vegas, stop by the Stranger Things store. Who knows, you might feel the pull of the Upside Down—or at least leave with some cool merch!
