If you live in the Las Vegas area or are simply looking for an active getaway opportunity, look no further than one of the many races and marathons taking place in Las Vegas in 2025.

In this article, we’ll look at all the races and marathons in Las Vegas through 2025.

January

  • Revolution Run 10k & 5k, January 1

Taking place on January 1 is the Revolution Run, a fantastic, active way to see in the new year with a 10k run, a 5k run, and even a kid’s run! With a paved track throughout, there’s no better way to get your New Year resolutions up and running than by traversing Kellogg-Zaher Park, the Bonanza Trail, and Bill Briare Park.

The race is just 20 minutes from the Strip and is a great choice for walkers and runners alike. Strollers are welcome, making it a fun-filled, family-friendly event. Those who finish the race will receive a shirt and a finisher award.

  • Lake Mead Marathon, January 11

Located within the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, this run is entirely paved and has been praised in the past for its incredible scenery and excellent production. It begins at Boulder Beach and leads up to the paved River Mountain Loop Trail. Choose from a Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k, or 5k while enjoying the views of the largest artificial lake in the US.

  • MLK Jr Freedom Run, January 18 

Departing from the iconic “Welcome to Las Vegas” Sign, participants can come together in celebration of the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. at this city run. With runners and walkers of all abilities, it’s a fun-filled, active day out with a great atmosphere, and plenty of custom finisher’s T-shirts for you to take home!

  • Coffee Lovers Run, January 18

Another city-center run beginning at the “Welcome to Las Vegas Sign” and taking place across the southern end of the Las Vegas boulevard is the Coffee Lovers Run! Choose from a 5k, 10k, or a half marathon and enjoy the scenic route and a wonderful coffee-themed finisher t-shirt to take home.

  • Red Rock Canyon Marathon, January 25

One of the best races in Las Vegas for those who enjoy stunning scenery is the Red Rock Canyon Marathon. This entirely paved 13-mile route takes place at the most notable natural treasure in the Las Vegas area, traversing some of the Mojave Desert’s most stunning viewpoints.

This marathon is also an official Boston Marathon Qualifier, so it’s a great choice if you’re interested in running in the 2025 Boston Marathon.

February

  • Bootleg Boogie, February 1

The Bootleg Boogie is an annual 100-, 50-, 33-, 22-, and 13.1-mile race held in Bootleg Canyon, Boulder City, Nevada, near Las Vegas. The trail is unpaved but mostly single-track, and it offers stunning views of the surrounding nature.

While most of the races take place during the day, the half, 22, and 50m distances have a 6 p.m. start option for those who prefer a nighttime run.

  • Lunar New Year Fortune Run, February 1 

This city-center run celebrates the Lunar New Year in style with the fantastic Fortune Run. Whether you want to run a 5k, 10k, or even a Half Marathon, you can kickstart the Lunar New Year festivities, and take home an event t-shirt and a medal.

  • Together Against Breast Cancer, February 1 

If you’re looking for a race that can help you raise money for Breast Cancer research, the Together Against Breast Cancer run, taking place on February 1, is an excellent choice. This city-center run allows participants to join in with a 5k, 10k, or half marathon and is excellent for all ages and abilities.

  • Vegas Golden Night & Day, February 8 

The Vegas Golden Night & Day is a fairly simple, fully paved race, perfect for those still starting out. This community running event is in celebration of the Vegas ice hockey team. Whether you’re a fan, an avid runner, a casual walker, or just want to join the festivities, everyone is welcome here!

  • Jackpot Ultra Running Festival, February 14 – 16 

If you love to run, perhaps consider heading out of the city and into the neighboring area of Henderson for one of the region’s best-produced and coolest running festivals.

With unpaved trails and paved roads to run on, participants can enjoy six-, 12-, 24-, and 48-hour races, a standard 100-mile race, and a 50-mile race.

Jackpot Ultra Running Festival is arguably the most diverse, inclusive, and welcoming short-loop ultra races in the country, with runners of varying abilities coming together to compete in this awesome selection of races. Jackpot Ultra’s a race for all, from world record holders to new runners and even adaptive athletes.

  • Valentines Live, Love, RUN, February 15 

Get in the mood to spread Valentine’s Day love with this fun-filled run! Whether you’re running with your special someone or looking to meet your new match, come along and join in this Valentine’s Day weekend. 

Participants can choose between a 5k, a 10k, and a half marathon, and don’t worry if you don’t fall in love on the track – you’ll still get to take home a themed t-shirt and some chocolates!

  • Singles and Friends Running Club, February 15

Have all the Valentine’s festivities gotten you down? Need something to do with your single friends this weekend, or simply looking to enjoy some time with some like-minded singles? Why not join in with this relaxing, scenic city run? It’s a no-pressure event with a welcoming atmosphere, open to all ages and abilities!

  • Rock n’ Roll, February 22 – 23

Located in the heart of Las Vegas, Rock n’ Roll is more than just a race; it’s the ultimate running party! Taking place at night, participants can run a fully paved trail down the Las Vegas Strip, framed by the twinkling lights of Nevada’s best hotels, bars, and casinos.

  • Fight for Air Climb (Scale the Strat), February 23

Unlike most races on this list, Scale the Strat is a truly unique fundraising experience. Commonly referred to around the country as the Fight for Air Climb, these are held across the country, and participants climb prominent skyscrapers across the country, including, of course, the Strat Tower in Las Vegas.

Join your friends and family as you climb the stairs of all 108 floors of the building, right to the top, all while raising funds for the American Lung Association.

March

  • Coffee Lovers Run, March 1 

Another city-center run beginning at the “Welcome to Las Vegas Sign” and taking place across the southern end of the Las Vegas boulevard is the Coffee Lovers Run! Choose from a 5k, 10k, or a half marathon and enjoy the scenic route and a wonderful coffee-themed finisher t-shirt to take home with you.

  • The Donut Run, March 1 

Love donuts? You’re in luck! This small, private group 5k, 10k, and half marathon event has an abundance of donuts and donut-themed goodies. You get a simple, scenic route, a supportive running atmosphere, and a cool donut t-shirt!

  • Labor of Love, March 8 

One of the more challenging races on this list, Labor of Love, is a paved track that begins at an elevation of around 4,5000 feet. Runners will see a range of high desert vegetation, including Joshua Trees, Mountain Roses, Pinion-Junipes, and Sagebrush.

This trail twists and turns through the canyon, making it one of the more difficult on this list. However, the weather is great for running, as the temperature in this area of the Spring Mountains is around 10 degrees cooler than that in the Las Vegas Valley.

  • Lucky 5K/10K/Half Marathon, March 9 

Looking for an electrifying experience that will test both your luck and speed? Be sure to join in the Lucky 5K/10K/Half on March 9, right in the heart of Las Vegas. This super flat, fast course can help you beat your personal best while enjoying great views.

Departing from the scenic Bill Briare Park, runners will be eligible to win a selection of medals for top finishers across different categories and age groups.

  • Six Tunnels to Hoover Dam St. Patrick’s Day Half Marathon, March 15 

This infamous St Patrick’s Day run is fun for all the family. It features unpathed trails and ranges from a 5k to a Half-Marathon. The races occur at the Lake Mead National Recreation area, just 18 miles from Las Vegas, and offer scenic views across the largest artificial lake in the US.

  • St. Paddy’s Day Lucky Run, March 15 

If you’re looking for a fun-filled city center St. Paddy’s Day run, then you’re in luck! This event splits runners into small waves of just 20, making it a great way to hang out with a large group of friends or make new ones!

Whether you sprint, jog, or walk, everyone is welcome, no matter their age (though a guardian must accompany minors), and there’s no stress on time either!

  • Arbor Day Run Green, March 15 

Celebrate Arbor Day in style at this relaxed and friendly city run. Bring your friends and family and run anywhere between 5k and a half marathon. 

  • I’m Bound for Boston Marathon & Half Marathon, 16th & 17th March

Dreaming of heading to the infamous Boston Marathon? You’ll need to find a great official qualifier, and this is one of the great ones taking place in Las Vegas. This exclusive marathon event takes place on a USATF-certified course at Sunset Park, along a flat 1-mile circuit.

  • Purple Run, March 22

In celebration of “Pop Life” figure Prince, the Purple Run is held to pay tribute to the icon and create a way through which fans and active individuals alike can come together.

Not only was the color purple associated with Prince, but unlike many other colors, purple is also associated with many different causes, such as Alzheimer’s Disease, Eating disorders, 9/11 victims, and Animal Abuse. Whatever cause is closest to your heart, be sure to raise awareness for it by joining the Purple Run!

All racers will receive a custom technical shirt, a finishers medal, food after the race, eligibility to win an award, first aid stations, and a very fun experience.

  • Trail Trashed Ultra, March 22

For those who want something a little more adventurous than a family-friendly run, then Trail Trashed Ultra will also be taking place on March 22. With three different challenging routes, racers must be both fearless and adventurous!

Runners can enjoy free food and beer, alongside loud music, high energy, and fun-filled memories that will last a lifetime. Get ready to embark on both wide-groomed trails and challenging single-tracks, with stunning views of Las Vegas, Henderson, mountains, ravines, and valleys!

April

  • Together Against Breast Cancer, April 5 

If you’re looking for a race that can help you raise money for Breast Cancer research, then the Together Against Breast Cancer run, taking place on February 1, is an excellent choice. This city-center run allows participants to join in with a 5k, 10k, or half marathon and is great for all ages and abilities.

  • SuperHeroes Run & Walk, April 5 

Comic book fans unite for this action-packed adventure! Looking for a fun-filled run where you can dress up as your favorite superhero? This is it! Join friends and family and choose a distance between 1 mile and a half-marathon.

There is no pressure to go fast, and the community at this event is super inclusive and supportive.

  • Vegas Cares About Rare, April 6

This annual race is an event held as a powerful celebration of World Rare Disease Month in aid of children suffering from rare diseases and illnesses. Participation contributes to the charity’s largest fundraiser, which directly supports children battling rare diseases by funding important medical equipment and scholarships and supporting the families of those suffering.

  • Triple Dare Runs Deja-Vu, April 12

Though this trail is unpaved, it’s a great choice for those just starting out with racing off the paved areas. A flat, 2.1-mile loop run makes this race straightforward and simple, and the surrounding views of the beautiful trails and Mountains Edge Regional Park are stunning.

It’s a recycled run, so it will come at a lower price thanks to the t-shirts, medals, awards, etc., being recycled from last time!

  • Always Hope Easter Run, April 19

If you’re looking for the perfect springtime city-center run, then this exhilarating Easter-themed active event is it! From a family-friendly 1-mile fun run all the way up to a challenging half marathon, there’s plenty of choice for every kind of runner.

Celebrate Earth Day in style at this relaxed and friendly city run. Bring your friends and family and run anywhere between 1 mile and a half marathon.

  • LVMPD SAR 5k, April 26

Head to the outskirts of Las Vegas, over to Spring Mountain Ranch State Park, where you can enjoy a heart-pumping morning run, but the race itself is only half the fun at this event! Stick around after to enjoy an awesome helicopter demonstration from LVMPD’s Search and Rescue Operations and explore an array of different rescue vehicles from a range of local hero organizations.

Charleston, just a short drive from Vegas, then you’re in luck!

  • Twilight Red Rock, October 18

If a run through Red Rock Canyon sounds pleasurable, but you don’t enjoy the sun, this exciting twilight race is a great choice for you. Join in with an awe-inspiring event that takes you through the canyon at sunset, and as day turns to night, admire the starry sky as you run along this enchanting course. An outstanding and unique choice for anyone interested in exploring nature at night.

  • Ultra X Nevada 220k Stage Race, October 20

This multi-stage ultra marathon is a week-long event, beginning on October 20, 2025, and spanning 5 days of running fun across the Red Rock Conservation Area and Spring Mountain Recreation Area.

The area boasts some of the most diverse and beautiful terrains in America. With elevations rising thousands of meters above the desert basin below, participants can enjoy spectacular views and a wide range of unique and diverse scenery along the trails.
