As avid fitness enthusiasts will tell you, there’s more to Vegas than the Strip. Get out and enjoy the best biking riding in Las Vegas.
1. Las Vegas Cyclery
Las Vegas Cyclery is the starting point for some of the best bike riding in Las Vegas. The bicycle business was started in 1992 by Jared and Heather Fisher, newlywed bike lovers, and has since grown in popularity.
Las Vegas Cyclery (LVC) recommends great rides, such as a trek from LVC to Red Rock Loop and back. The challenging ride has 2,245 feet of climbing inside the State Park Loop, and the loop is one direction for 13 miles. The total ride is 31.29 miles in Summerlin South.
For a medium-difficult ride, try LVC to Blue Diamond Road and back. This trek is through Red Rock Canyon and includes an opportunity to stop at Blue Diamond Old Town and refuel at Cottonwood Station Restaurant. The total miles is 38.90 miles in Summerlin South.
For an easy road ride, consider riding 1.3 miles to Mountain Bike trailhead. You can ride on surface streets or sidewalks of Town Center South.
LVC is located at 10575 Discovery Drive in La Vegas and is a great resource for bikes, accessories, and anything ‘bikes’ for road and trail bike riders.
2. RTC
RTC, which operates public buses in the city, also offers Bike RTC, an interactive map to easily find bicycle routes, workstations, bike shops, bike share locations, and more.
These maps show designated trails with bike lanes, enhanced bicycle lanes, and shared-use paths around Las Vegas.
RTC encourages Vegas residents to ride bicycles to work as it “improves health, reduces congestion, and is good for the environment. “The RTC’s transit system supports over 55,000 bike trips each month.
3. Giant Las Vegas
Giant Las Vegas offers group bike rides where locals and residents can enjoy riding together.
Two great rides take place on weekends. For example, on October 12, Saturday Road Ride meets at 6 am and rides to Camping World for 3 Feet for Pete Ride. The pace is moderate at 15-17 mph, and the group typically rides between 40-50 miles with approximately 2,500 feet of climbing. Saturday routes vary and include stops along the way so no one gets lost.
The Sunday ride starts at 6 am and typically is at a faster, more challenging pace of 18-20 mph. The routes depend on who is riding in the group.
Riders need to sign a one-time waiver and have a road bike, helmet, and hydration – plus a desire to have fun. Rides start at Giant Las Vegas, 9345 S. Cimarron Road.
